Updated Snow Amounts – Tuscarawas Valley

As discussed in today’s update published earlier today, the cold front we’ve been expecting has crossed through our area. Snow has started to fall in most areas. Snow showers of varying intensity will continue into the evening.

The ground is fairly warm yet, so much of this will likely melt through this evening. Snow can accumulate as temperatures across the area continue to fall late this afternoon and evening – especially on elevated surfaces like bridges and overpasses, less-traveled secondary roads, your deck, grassy areas, and of course, your vehicle if it isn’t garaged.

Once the sun goes down, temperatures will continue to fall overnight, ending up in the low-20s by sunrise Tuesday. Breezy west wind will make it feel even colder. Expect wind chill values in the low teens and even single digits in some communities as you head out early on St. Patrick’s Day.

The steadiest snowfall is likely to occur until around 8:00 PM this evening. Snow showers should become more scattered after 8 PM.

Temperatures will continue to be colder than average through Wednesday before warming to around average on Thursday and the remainder of the work week.
