Chances of snow showers will continue tonight across the Valley with total nighttime accumulation of less than an inch in most places. Then, a welcome break from the snow moves in on Thursday. While daytime temperatures will remain well below normal, Thursday will at least feature some needed sunshine. Unfortunately, the sun won’t do much to warm the temperature.
Our hiatus from the snow will be short-lived, though. The next storm system will move in late Friday and spread accumulating snow across the area through Saturday morning.
There continues to be uncertainty with the onset of snow showers. Clouds will increase during the morning hours on Friday and daytime highs will remain below normal. Light snow showers will spread west to east into the east-central Ohio region during the mid to late afternoon. (We’ll work on the timing issues on Thursday.)
Light to moderate snow showers will likely continue through Friday night then taper off early Saturday morning before ending late Saturday morning. As of today, heavy snowfall is not likely but it will snow fairly steady for several hours. Other than some nickel and dime snow flurries that could pop up in the late morning and afternoon, most of the snow will be done.
The good news is that temperatures in our area will favor precipitation falling here as snow. We won’t have to deal with any freezing rain and/or ice. Those p-types will stay well south of Ohio.
All of our local communities will get in on gradually accumulating snow, though.
Sunday looks like a transition day where we find ourselves between systems. A passing weak low might bring some snow back on Monday. Temperatures look to moderate some Sunday and Monday. After that, another arctic front plunges us back into the deep freeze.
As always, any updates and changes will be posted here. Thanks for choosing TUSCWeather and keeping your weather local. Enjoy the weather. Be safe out there.
Thanks so much Joe!!!!
