Snow showers will likely get underway during the pre-dawn hours on Thursday. Expect some challenges during the morning commute to work/school. Generally, this is a long-duration snow event, meaning it will snow during most of the daytime hours into Thursday night. The trip home later in the day may not be much better – especially on secondary roads.
Most times snowfall rates will be light to moderate. There can be bands of briefly heavy snowfall at times. With area temperatures plenty cold enough, this will be the fluffier high-ratio type of snow and it’ll stick efficiently where it ends up.

Regarding amounts, this is a widespread event. Everyone in the area will get pretty much the same amount of snow. Expect a general 1″ to 2″ everywhere. Locations that happen to get under a more intense band could end up with an inch more. This could be a few places or a lot of places – wherever any heavier bands decide to go.

The steadiest snow showers will taper off after sunset on Thursday evening. Scattered light snow showers and flurries will likely linger into Friday morning. The rest of Friday will feature dry weather and a clearing trend.

Be careful out there.
WOW! An old fashioned winter! (Don’t tell anybody, but I’m actually kind of enjoying it)
Me too!
